Wilbur is a big, slobbery, lovable Lab/Great Pyrenees mix. Amelia wanted to give Alex photos of his dog as a Valentine’s Day present. So we pretended we were going on a hike, but took photos of Wilbur instead. Amelia’s red heeler, Zoe, managed to sneak in a couple of shots too.

Miss L and I laughed our way through this shoot. Her dog kept trying to pose with her on the bed! (And again, she gave me permission to put these up!

Boudoir photography is all about the woman. She dictates how the shoot goes – sweet, sexy, vampy, elegant. Miss E was super sweet, with a dash of come-hither eyes. She was nervous before we started, but once we were finished, we agreed how much fun we had!
*And yes, she chose the ones she was comfortable with me posting*

I met Aaron and Jess in Wash Park last Saturday on a crazy warm day in mid-January. When we scheduled the session, I figured we’d be shooting in a snow storm, not in flip flops! From the first frame on, Jess and Aaron worked it for the camera. Not much prompting was needed from me. Thanks for making my job easy you two!
Hanging around engaged couples, you really get a feeling for how their marriage will be. These two are so caring toward each other – genuinely making sure the other is warm, okay, comfortable, happy, etc. I am really looking forward to their fall wedding – plus it’s just down the street from me in a great neighborhood!

Their Boston Bull Terriers wanted to steal the show! So cute.

Family portrait!

UPDATE! There is only ONE spot left – the 9am. If we have more inquiries, we may add one more on at 4, but that would be it. Sign up quick!

You may remember Khalil from a post when he was just 1 week old – well, now he’s a chubby 3-month old and cute as can be. Giggling and aware, he was fun to be around. His mom and dad love him, and although his older brother, Matias, won’t admit, he’s pretty fond of him too. It’s fun getting to see babies grow – they change so much month to month. Khalil crashed hard after posing for the camera for an hour – he deserved a nap.

Look at that little smirk!

Look at that chubby, slobbery little face! So cute.

How cool are those baby record albums on the wall?!

Laney, or Laneykins, as her dad likes to call her, was a perfect model despite the major snowstorm we had to work in while back in Illinois. But that’s what made things fun. She will do anything for her orange ball, and we sure tested that out. She sat in poses with her eye on that ball, until her owner, Tim, released her and then she was off and running. She was pooped by the end of the shoot, but I am sure an hour after she was ready to play fetch all over again.

She looks so stoic here.

Within the last 5-10 years, Tim got into hunting and has two deer heads hanging in his living room. I had to include them in some way in the photo with Laney.

Bryan and I headed home via I-80 for 10 days over Christmas and New Years. We were in Chicago, Madison, Champaign and places in between. We stopped by his family’s farm, cemetery and the woods he grew up hunting in. There’s been so much rain that the rivers are flooded which causes the trees to stand in these huge lakes of water. Cool photos, but wonder what it’ll be like in spring.
I sometimes need to be reminded to bring my camera with me just for me, and Bryan does a good job of that. I can definitely be lazy about shooting when I’m on vacation, but this day made me realize that I need to shoot for me way more often.
And only one of these photos was turned to black and white. The sky photos – well, that is just the color of the Midwest sky in the winter for 6 months straight.

I was given an editorial assignment by ZUMA press agency to cover Papidies, a Chihuahua who won the cutest dog contest along with the $1 million prize. His owner donated the entire winnings to two Denver animal shelters. Pretty generous and amazing.

As I was wandering around the antique shops on Broadway, I saw this bright red veil – how cool would this look on an untraditional bride?!?! Just thought I’d share…
