After chasing and batting away mini soccer balls, climbing into paper bags, and meowing at a laser beam for a solid 30 minutes, Lydia decided she was done with the shoot. And you pretty much can’t make this cat do anything she doesn’t want to. So we waited patiently until she decided to join us again, which she did – because as you know – cats are curious creatures.

I love this one – straight out of the camera – it’s like a ’70s cover album

Charlotte was exactly one month old when we took these portraits of her. She was 27 days early, so she really should have only been a few days old. She decided she needed to get some beauty sleep during the shoot, but half-way through the shoot – after her mom, Leah, and I had tried everything to wake her up – she decided to participate.
The extra beauty sleep helped, because isn’t she so cute?! She was full of expressions. And look at that full head of hair! I think Leah and Taylor are going to have to shoo the boys away early. Leah and Taylor – congrats on a beautiful, healthy baby girl!

This picture makes me happy – Charlotte was smiling in her sleep.

I had a friend of a friend email me the other day to consider doing dance photos for a contemporary dance company and their upcoming performance. I automatically thought stage lighting, posed dancing, etc. We met up to chat, and I found out these girls were completely the opposite! It was a blast and it was so fun to shoot something a little different – very simliar to a fashion shoot. The girls had so much energy, tons of ideas and were game for anything (even changing in Commons Park!)
You can catch CLUTCH (hang-on) in Boulder at the Nomad Theater, on February 26 & 27, 2010.

Amy and Matt are good people. They are kind, considerate, compassionate and you can see that by how they take care of each other. Right now, they are in such a transitional phase – trying to get a job, decide where to live, plan a wedding, and make a long-distance relationship work. It was great to spend some time with them together for a few reasons. One, selfishly – it was a lot of fun! Second, because, right now, they don’t get to be with each other much as Matt lives in Denver and Amy is in Minnesota. Hopefully soon they’ll both be back here. We were all together in Jackson Hole when Matt and Amy came back from a hike engaged. You can see those photos here.
I can’t wait for their wedding next year, and I know neither can they!

Last Monday, I went with Bryan to the swearing in of all the new Colorado attorneys. It was at Boettcher Concert Hall downtown. The place was pretty full of family and new lawyers. It wasn’t the most riveting thing I’ve ever attended, but at least I had my camera.
