Anna, aka Lil’ Miss Blue Eyes, is a happy 3 1/2 month old baby who just loves being cuddled and snuggled and loved on by her parents, Sean and Sarah (who’s Denver wedding I shot 2 years ago). She is such a cute baby – smiling at her parents being goofballs and then she finally had enough (as any of us would have).
It was a challenging first month or two as Sean and Sarah adjusted to having this new being in their life, but it seems they’ve now gotten the hang of it and are going to be wonderful parents. Sean’s mom was visiting, so we snuck in a few photos of her with her first grandchild.
Anna, you are one lucky girl with a family who adores you. Click to view Anna’s gallery

My lens lost its focus, but I like the dreamy quality of this image.

Kathleen and Chris were married last Friday on a beeeeautiful June afternoon at the Chapel at Red Rocks. Chris drank a couple beers in the parking lot with his groomsmen while Kathleen paced in circles in the “getting ready room” with her girls and mom – trying to make those last 20 minutes before the ceremony vanish. She was even making me nervous!
Kathleen was glowing as she walked down the aisle with her dad and she proceeded to giggle her way through the ceremony. Chris covered up his nervousness well with his big smile, but you could tell it was there. You could tell they really enjoyed themselves during the ceremony – smiling, laughing, looking out at their family and friends.
Their reception was at the Willis Case Golf Course with a live 80′s cover band that the guests got down to. Little mason jars with candles framed the tent as the sun set and guests ate cupcakes for dessert (umm, yum! I can personally atest they were good).
Congrats you two! Can’t wait for your premier! Click to view all of Kathleen and Chris’s Red Rocks wedding gallery
And once again, big ups to Denver photographer Kristy Rowe of Mooderous Photography as second shooter!

I recently went back home to Chicago for my Oma’s (German for grandma) 90th surprise birthday party. And was she surprised! (Incidentally, she would NOT be happy with me telling the world her age) Friends and family, some whom she hadn’t seen in years, came to celebrate her. Oma is still tack-sharp, drives her car, tells jokes, has the girls over for cards and makes mean lemon bars. I’m so thankful to have spent so many years with her, learning family history, playing golf and laughing hard.
Here’s to another 90, Oma!
Everyone was watching, waiting for my dad’s car to pull up with Oma in it

Surprise!

My dad, left, uncle and aunt

Oma had some issues blowing out the cake … but got some help

Chris and Amanda have been dating for a long time, and you can tell with how comfortable they are with each other. They had no problem doing the silly things I asked them (like running at the seagulls), cuddling over and over with each other and making each other laugh. And thanks for being ok with all that sand :)
Chicago’s North Beach was such a fun place to shoot – so many options and so different from Colorado. I am so excited for their August wedding in Chicago – although I’ll be sweating my butt off – I know it’ll be a great time!

Kathleen is one of my besties – it was friendship at first sight our first week at college when we met each other with our messy ponytail buns on the top of our heads ala Marge Simpson. Her husband, Steve, is a giant sweetheart and their 6-month-old son, William, is cute enought to almost make me want a kid of my own. I said ALMOST guys.
I was home in the Chicago ‘burbs for my grandma’s 90th birthday (post on that later) and went over to Kath’s house for the portrait session. We had a lot of fun – the three were naturals. This family can’t take a bad picture. Thanks for making my job easy guys!
