Christie and Amy really put some thought into their engagement shoot. They took me around Boulder to places that were meaningful to them – first kiss, where they play with their dogs, where Amy tried to propose to Christie for the third time one day, and where Amy finally proposed to Christie. I had fun getting to know them as they walked me through their relationship history, and I honestly had a lot of fun hanging out with them on a beautiful Saturday afternoon.
Amy and Christie are so sweet and caring toward each other. I love being around couples who are always looking to make sure the other is ok. Their relationship seems so easy and comfortable, which I know is the culmination of a lot of work. I am so excited for their Beaver Creek wedding this Saturday! It’s going to be pretty awesome!

You may remember these two from their Wash Park engagement photos. Peter and Sarah were married at Arrowhead Golf Course on a perfect fall day, and I mean purrr-fect. The sun slipped behind the clouds just in time for portraits. You can’t pay money for weather or light like this. {Sigh} I love Colorado. Anyway, I digress.
Sarah and Peter surround themselves with really great friends and a loving family. Everyone was just so excited to see these two get married and celebrate their love – which they did by hugs, tears, good beer, funny toasts and getting down to some Lady Gaga. It was really great – I felt like I was just hanging out with Peter and Sarah – no stress, no mess. Just a great day of pictures!
Happy one week anniversary you two! Thanks for letting me cut in line with you at the Great American Beer Festival (I ran into them the day after their wedding there!).

This was like, is he really going to tell that story?

And then, whew, different story…

Lindsey and Aaron are getting married next May an hour outside of Austin, TX, so they wanted to have some real Colorado-y engagement photos to showcase their life out West. We headed up to Golden Gate Canyon Park where the aspens are in their full, beautiful golden state. We let their dogs, Dublin and Indy, run around during the first half of the shoot – they were in heaven, bounding around. I had a lot of fun wandering around with Lindsey and Aaron and can’t wait for their Horseshoe Bay wedding!

I’ve known Abby’s mom, Molly, since running track my freshman year in the Chicago suburbs. She was the cool senior and was the older sister of one of my friend’s, but she was actually nice to us lowly freshman. Fast forward 15 years, and I find out we live less than two miles from each other here in Denver. Molly and her husband, Nick, had little Abigal Katherine about a month ago and she is just so sweet. She didn’t make a peep the whole shoot! While we were at Wash Park, we snuck in some sibling shots as a present to Nick’s parents.

I love how parents just talk nonsense to their babies.

How wonderful is this room? Seriously. I have contact info if you would like to hire the artist who did this!

Jim will be running his 81st (yup, you heard me correctly – I said EIGHTY-FIRST!) marathon in just a few days. As if he’s not busy enough training and running his own business, he’s in the middle of writing a book on, what else, running. We met up in Wash Park to take some head shots for his book jacket. Good luck with your Hawaii marathon, Jim!
