So I’ve got the studio office almost how I want it decorated. It’s taken a lot of trips to the Goodwill, Target and random furniture stores. Here are some photos (mainly for my mom and brother since they keep asking!). I think I’ll be having a little meet-n-greet in April and then we can all head over to the Skylark since it’s just a block away. I’m so excited to share this space with clients!

Wilbur is a big, slobbery, lovable Lab/Great Pyrenees mix. Amelia wanted to give Alex photos of his dog as a Valentine’s Day present. So we pretended we were going on a hike, but took photos of Wilbur instead. Amelia’s red heeler, Zoe, managed to sneak in a couple of shots too.

Laney, or Laneykins, as her dad likes to call her, was a perfect model despite the major snowstorm we had to work in while back in Illinois. But that’s what made things fun. She will do anything for her orange ball, and we sure tested that out. She sat in poses with her eye on that ball, until her owner, Tim, released her and then she was off and running. She was pooped by the end of the shoot, but I am sure an hour after she was ready to play fetch all over again.

She looks so stoic here.

Within the last 5-10 years, Tim got into hunting and has two deer heads hanging in his living room. I had to include them in some way in the photo with Laney.

A few people said they missed out on my three-week long sale. So this is for the procrastinators out there – a 24-hour sale on everything in the store. Click on Kara Pearson Photography to be taken to your wedding photography, pet photography, baby photography or family photography gallery

Merry Christmas!! And think WARM!

After chasing and batting away mini soccer balls, climbing into paper bags, and meowing at a laser beam for a solid 30 minutes, Lydia decided she was done with the shoot. And you pretty much can’t make this cat do anything she doesn’t want to. So we waited patiently until she decided to join us again, which she did – because as you know – cats are curious creatures.

I love this one – straight out of the camera – it’s like a ’70s cover album

Andie was a perfect model for her photo shoots, despite the fact that she my have eaten too many biscuits (a girl’s got to watch her figure). She ran around, laid down, played with her mom, Kelley, and in general had a great time and so did I! And we managed to get it all in before that nasty wind and rain rolled in. Andie, daaahrling, you look fabulous. Click here to view the web gallery of Andie.
And remember – you have one more week to take advantage of the $50 off pet, family and children photography. Must be booked by Oct. 31.

Just chilling in front of the fan … Tucky’s new favorite past-time.

While Cash likes to bask in the sun.
Almost 30 boxes full of my stuff fill my living room, waiting for Sunday. To be honest, though, if they would all disappear, the only thing I would miss would be the pictures.
I moved out here 4 1/2 years ago with just what would fit in my car. Now I have to rent a 17′ U-Haul to move everything.
It’s scary leaving this place that I’ve grown to know so well. My friends, colleagues and the community. But moving to new places is how you grow as a person. You learn things about yourself each time, because, really, all you have to rely on is yourself.

I’ve been enjoying the snow here in Glenwood – skiing and snowshoeing a bunch. But that’s no excuse why I haven’t updated this here blog. I’m also in the process of moving down to Denver – so if you know anyone who’s looking for a photographer in Colorado – freelance, weddings, etc., let ‘em know! Here’s a photo to tie you over until the next posting…
