I’ve been a member of WPJA (Wedding Photojournalists Association) since 2008. They hold quarterly contests which wedding photographers from around the world enter. I just found out that I placed 12th in the “Getting Ready” category with a photo from Jessica and Justin’s Arrowhead wedding. Congrats to Denver photographers Kent Meireis and Preston Utley for placing in the contest as well.
It’s always fun to step back and look through a year’s worth of work. I am so thankful for the families and couples who welcome me into their big day with trust and open arms. Thank you! After a little time off, an eye-opening 2 day photo workshop and a new lens(!), I am feeling rejuvenated and excited for 2012.
This was the most emotion-filled wedding of the year. Love me some tears and laughter! Shannon and Jason are the warmest people you’d ever meet. They truly nurture their friendships and family relationships. I’ve never seen two people with more close friends.
Their wedding was held at an authentic, recreated 19th century New England town called Storrowton Village in West Springfield, Massachusetts. Shannon and Jason giggled like little school girls during the ceremony. Midway through the ceremony, Jason asked if he could kiss Shannon yet. Ah, love. So cute!
Big thanks to Massachusetts photographer Chris Mulready for second shooting with me. Didn’t have a chance at the wedding? Sign up here to be notified when the gallery is up.

Shannon loves butterflies (although you would think otherwise from this photo)
