I got an email from Michael with SparkTheater, asking if I would do some promo shots for their upcoming play, “Dangerous Liaisons.” It’s always fun working with actors because they will pose the crap out of a photo – I don’t need to give them much direction. Definitely looking forward to seeing this play. It’s going to be pretty intense!

After shooting Brent and Kelly’s vow renewal until late Saturday night, Alexis, with Volte Photos, and I were back at the Sopel’s house in the morning. We got there before the Stanley Cup, so we could document the arrival. Brent was like a little kid when the Cup came – grinning from ear to ear.
They had planned to eat cereal out of the Cup as a family. It was so fun and surreal. We then came back later in the afternoon for the Stanley Cup party/backyard bbq. The Sopels guesstimated that they would have more than 350 guests throughout the day at the party, and it sure seemed to hit that mark. With music from Panache, 2 pig roasts and the Stanley Cup – it was a great party.
Brent had silver spoons engraved with each family member’s name
I asked Brent how amazing of a feeling it was washing the Stanley Cup in his kitchen sink. He said he’d been dreaming of the Cup since he started skating at two years old and he couldn’t believe it was in his house.
Before heading out to bring the Cup to the crowd …

Every Wednesday night at 7:30, there is a “Questions Group” that is held at Dazbog Coffee (12th and Clayton – Congress Park). It’s a place where people can come who are struggling with religious questions – people of all backgrounds attend (atheists, Catholics, Muslims, etc.). Pastor Dave Morlan sums it up well on the questions group blog:
“The Question Group is a conversational forum that has met in various locations in Denver for the past four years to discuss hard questions about God, Jesus, the Bible and Christianity. It is an inclusive group that assumes we don’t have it all figured out. The purpose of the group is to help you figure out for yourself what it is you do believe about God and why. Everyone, regardless of one’s beliefs, is welcome to join in the conversation. So if there is something about Christianity that is bothering you, let me know what it is by emailing me. We all have questions – together we can find some answers.”
Again, I shot this for Fellowship Denver. Now for a few photos:

Denver children photography | Fellowship Denver part IVMarch 23rd, 2010Kara Pearson Photography wrapped up her photography session at Fellowship Denver after taking photos of the children’s ministry and baby nursery as well as their Gospel Class. |
So the last two things I had to photography for Fellowship Denver’s new website was the Gospel Class and the children’s nursery. One was a little more visual than the other :)

Denver photographer: Fellowship Denver Part IIIMarch 8th, 2010Denver photographer, Kara Pearson Photography, went to Fellowship Denver on Sunday to take photos of the congregation, pastor and musicians for their new web site. |
On Sunday, I took pictures of our other pastor, Hunter Beaumont, at Fellowship Denver, as well as more of the musicians for their new web site. The lead singer/guitar player, Adam Anglin, is part of a rockin’ Denver band, The Brothers O’Hair.
Color?

or do you like the black and white version better?

I love this photo – it is so genuine.
