Wow am I tired, but it sure is fun to see how intense and passionate the wrestlers are. The coaches are almost as fun to watch – their reactions and emotions. Two 12 hour days and you get a lot of access to the wrestlers away from the mat. Here are a few of the brothers who won state and another teammate.

I got to stand up in the truck bed with Joe as his wife drove us through the snow, slushy field. Hay stains covered my pants from leaning against them, and everything smelled so fresh.

Ranching is all Joe knows. It’s what he grew up doing, and continued to do in his adult life. It’s in his blood. So down-to-earth and friendly. Wish I could have made the rounds with him to his other fields.
