8 Month Old Portraits
This magical age is so precious. They aren’t moving yet, they are on a schedule (more or less), they’re smiley and just a quintessential baby. It was a hot hot day, so we mainly stayed at their home for these Denver baby portraits. We had planned to make it to Cheeseman Park, but called an audible when the temperatures neared 100 degrees.
Julian isn’t moving too much yet, but he’s so ready! I was thrilled to capture him at 8 months. He’s curious and happy and loves being with his parents. I don’t think I’ll ever get over how much a baby changes in his first year. You can see how much he’s changed since his newborn portraits.
Usually the parents have changed a bunch too! They are calmer, and a bit more go-with-the-flow. They also look a bit more rested – ha! My style of baby and family portraits is relaxed. We hang out, catch up and I take photos as you interact with your babies. We definitely do some “everyone look here” photos, but that’s about 25% of the session. Kids, especially small ones, do a lot better with a lifestyle approach to a portrait session.
Lifestyle portraits capture those little moments, touches and different faces, not just the posed, forced smile face. I adore getting to photograph families. It is so important to me!
