Denver Playground Family Portraits

Johnson Habitat Park

This is the third year I’ve had the honor to capture this wonderful child. He is full of life and love. In his third year of portraits with me, Sarah wanted me to capture his energy in photographs. What better place to do that than at a playground? See his first baby portrait session at home and his second family portrait session at City Park.

We met at a wonderful natural playground called Johnson Habitat Park where I’ve actually photographed family portraits before. It’s next to the Platte River, and has beautiful tall grass, rocks and logs for climbing right in the middle of Denver.

This little dude took off running, climbing and jumping, all the while with a huge smile on his face. He was in his happy place for sure. Sarah and her mom laughed, trying to keep up. Having two little kids of my own, I’m still amazed at the seemingly endless amounts of energy kids have. Can I bottle up some of that for me?

The best thing parents can do to guarantee that they get great photographs of their children is to have fun. You don’t even have to go anywhere, you can have fun in your very own house. But the moment it stops being fun (for either adults or kids), it starts to feel more forced. A fun, natural, effortless time with your family will make sure to bring you beautiful images of your favorite people.

What a beautiful family portrait session! I love lifestyle sessions at the park; they bring out some of the best expressions in little ones. You really did a wonderful job of capturing this cutie’s personality.
