Denver Newborn Portrait
Those little hands by that little face! She is just the sweetest, snuggliest baby girl. I photographed Michael and Sarah’s Wash Park engagement and Denver Country Club wedding, so was thrilled to hear they were expecting a baby. They already are naturals – calm, collected and smitten.
We did the entire Denver newborn portrait session at their home, which is always what I recommend. Newborn babies don’t do well in bright sunlight, and there are so many memories at your home to be captured. Plus, everyone is kind of a homebody right after having a baby. I wouldn’t have wanted to drag the baby and all my stuff out in the first week or two.
To set yourself (and baby) up for success:
1. Feed them 20-30 minutes before our session.
2. If you have outfit questions, get them ready to show me.
3. Get yourself ready to be in the images.
4. Relax and have fun.
I get it, you’re tired, and a portrait session isn’t at the top of your to-do list. Naps are. I promise you’ll cherish these images so much more than you can imagine. It’s ok if your baby is sleeping, and it’s ok if your baby isn’t sleeping. These are lifestyle portraits, so anything goes.
I love photographing these sweet babies and capturing these moments that you’ll never get back (and might be too sleep-deprived to remember!). Generally our session will last about 45-60 minutes, sometimes a little less. It all depends on how agreeable the babe is being. If you throw in a sibling or two, it might be closer to that hour mark.
After our session, I come back to your house to show you the images and help you decide what to actually do with these photos. That’s definitely the hardest part!
