Documenting Your Family’s Legacy with Family Portraits in Denver

The value of a family portrait increases with every day that passes.

As visual reminders of the journey and the joy of being a family, they become more memorable, poignant and unforgettable. It’s hard to imagine when you have a thousand other things “to-do” on your daily list, but just like buying Apple stock in the 80s, a family portrait is one purchase you’ll never regret.

Investing in Denver family photography  is a great way to capture life’s little moments.

Where To Take Family Photos Around Denver

A favorite place to photograph families is right in their home. Clients in Denver, Cherry Hills Village, Boulder, Highlands Ranch and Englewood choose to use their homes because it holds special memories and their children feel comfortable in an environment they know. If people don’t want to do photographs in their home, there are many parks and popular areas around.

Some favorites family portrait locations are Wash Park, Mount Falcon Park, City Park, downtown Boulder, downtown Denver and Bear Creek Lake Park.

Honestly though, sometimes your backyard is just as pretty! There are so many beautiful spots for family photography in Colorado that it isn’t hard to choose a spot that is perfect for your family.

My Approach To Lifestyle Family Portraits

I will pose families for their formal portraits, but my approach toward 80% of the shoot is for families to just hang out.

For kids to be kids and for mom and dad to take part. I may direct you toward an activity or an area of the house but other than that, I want it to feel natural. I love catching the little moments between parents and their children. Your two year old leads you across the room, a kiss on the head, a child clutching his favorite stuffed animal while his dad consoles him. When your kids are grown, that’s the stuff you remember. The whining and fights become a distant memory, and the sweet moments stay clear.

What Happens After We Photograph Your Session

About a week after your photo shoot, I’ll come to your home for your Viewing and Ordering Appointment. This is when I show you your images as well as samples of prints and products. At that point, I’ll guide you through the ordering process, helping you decide what works best for your style and personal use. I’ll mock up designs for wall art using your exact walls on my software which makes it very easy to make decisions. Album images will be chosen as well as fabric or leather. Wall art and albums are the most popular items. I only offer top quality, custom products – everything is archival quality, made to stand the test of time.

Once your artwork is complete, I then have a professional come to install it. I’m not done until everything is perfect!

Family POrtrait Testimonial

Kara was so wonderful to work with! From the beginning, she was incredibly organized, helped us pick out the right clothes and venue for the shoot, and made the whole process so easy.

We really wanted to capture our 1 year old, but were a little nervous that he wouldn’t want anything to do with someone taking pictures of him. We also wanted our family to be captured in a natural way.

Kara made us all feel comfortable and worked quickly and with a smile to get more amazing pictures then we could have imagined. And, after the shoot, she helped us pick out what are now some of the best framed art we have in our house.

I will be using Kara for all of our family photos moving forward and would recommend her to anyone!
