Why You Should Do Denver Newborn Photography
As an experienced photographer with Denver newborn photography, I know what moms need. You’re a ball of emotions – love, worry, happiness and anxiety. The last thing you need is to add more worry about your newborn photography session. That’s why I am committed to providing a stress-free experience that leaves you feeling bonded to your new baby.
I take care of hair and make-up as well as give you dress options to flatter your pregnant or postpartum body. I know what looks good! After our in home newborn session, I come back about a week later to show you your images and help you decide how you’d like to actually enjoy your images – which is generally a combination of print and digital.
These first weeks at home are magical and exhausting. Starting any new relationship takes a lot of work, and this one is no difference. You and your new baby are getting to know each other. You’ll get to look back on these newborn portraits fondly, remembering what it was like to hold such a tiny, precious baby who depended on you with their whole life. Documenting you with your newborn baby brings these memories to life.
What To Wear For Lifestyle Newborn Photography
Newborn portraits aren’t perfect photos of your baby. They are real life. Tender moments of you snuggling with him, exasperated looks as she cries and the look of pure love in your husband’s eyes.
I offer flattering maternity and postpartum dress options for mom as well as newborn onesies for baby. It can be so hard figuring out what to wear for your ever-changing body. The last months of pregnancy and first months of motherhood are a lot of ups and downs.
In addition, I pamper all my maternity and newborn moms with a makeup artist who will come to your house and get you looking your best before our session together. If you’re considering a maternity portrait session, here is some advice.
When To Take At Home Newborn Portraits
Newborn photography is a special type of portrait photography. Your baby is only truly a newborn for a few weeks and from day one begins to change so much. Your baby will never look like they do as a newborn, which is why I feel it’s important to capture him at this stage. I recommend photographing newborns before they turn 2 weeks old. Newborn acne tends to set in around the 12 days mark. My newborn lifestyle portraits capture life with this new baby. Mom and baby snuggling, dad holding his new daughter, pictures with siblings and a few family portraits.
If you decide to take newborn portraits and are worried that your baby may be too old – put that worry aside! With lifestyle newborn portraits your baby is NEVER too old. Therefore, capturing your new family can happen whenever you’d like. Here are some helpful tips for your Denver newborn photography session.
Where to Take Newborn Photography in Denver
I always do newborn photographs at your home. The outside is too bright for these babes. Don’t worry if your home is messy or you feel not yet like your old self. You just had a baby – you shouldn’t be your old self. And believe me, I can shoot around a mess – that won’t be included in your photos. What I want to capture is this special time that you’ll never get back. This haze of love, a tiredness you’ve never experienced, quiet, snuggle time with your spouse and baby. You’re in awe of what your body created and you’re in shock that this thing is going to be with you forever.
I photograph maternity and newborn portraits in Denver, Cherry Hills Village, Greenwood Village, Boulder, Highlands Ranch, Englewood, Westminster, The Highlands, Platte Park, Wash Park, Park Hill, Stapleton, City Park and Park Hill.
Lastly, if you really would rather not take photos at home, I have a photography studio space nearby in the Platte Park neighborhood of Denver. It is perfect for newborn photography and family portraits and convenient to many areas of Denver and the surrounding area.
