When Bryony called me to tell me she was getting married in 2 months in St. Louis, and wondered if I might be able to shoot her wedding – I was so excited!
Her older sister, Christine, was my randomly assigned roommate freshman year of college. Ironically, her mom was also from Germany, and she spoke fluent German. We hit it off right away, and ended up living together a few years throughout college. So, of course Bryony was always in the picture.
When I arrived in St. Louis, it was rainy. It rained all night long, and I kept waking up, worrying that the outdoor wedding wasn’t going to happen. Around 9am, the rain stopped and slowly throughout the day, the clouds broke and we ended the day with beautiful sunshine.
Bryony walked down the aisle with her dad and a big smile. Brad beamed back at her, and they said their vows in between some fierce wind gusts, and a lot of laughter.
We had a few hours to tour Forest Park and make some fun wedding portraits. Having so much time to create portraits is the best, and Brad and Bryony were up for anything.
Then, we grabbed a beer with their friends, before heading to the reception at Sasha’s On Shaw. Friends and family had a lot of fun catching up, drinking wine and just enjoying the day. This wedding definitely captured Bryony and Brad’s personalities perfectly – unassuming and laid back, and truly enjoying the day with family and friends.
